Today I learnt how to fold a towel into a swan shape! It really is true, is it not, that you are never too old to learn?
Mr B agrees with the sentiment but suggests that some things are more useful to learn than others. He is finding
it hard to imagine to what use I will put my new found skill.
My lesson in towel folding came at a poolside demonstration given by the housekeeping staff at our hotel. I thought, what a good idea to let them show off for a
bit. As well as the swan, they showed me how to make a crocodile and an elephant but only the swan looked vaguely as it should do. The hardest bit was keeping the towel tucked firmly under my chin while I folded in the sides. "Stronger! Stronger!" my teacher
kept encouraging me. I think she meant "tighter" but I am not too sure...
I can't wait for the next time someone comes to visit us. There on the bed, instead of boring towels on the end of the guest bed, there will be two beautiful white
towelling swans, swimming across the duvet. Always provided I can remember how it's done...
