Well, what a turn-up for the book!
There I was, gently terrorising the other kids at Nursery. It's for their own sake,
you know, they need to toughen up a bit. I just hurl the odd mega block in their direction every so often to keep them on their toes. This is Faris, by the way - bet you were wondering why Nanni had suddenly turned into a terrorist...
Anyway, as I said, there I was when who should appear at the Nursery door but Nanni. She was hopping about trying to pull the soppy blue overshoes on over her boots and nearly falling over because
she isn't too good at balancing. I am still learning the balancing trick myself, so I do have some sympathy with her on this. Apparently she had come to take me home because Mummy was still at work. I thought she was a bit early as I had been reckoning that
I had a good hour's play left before Home Time, but Nanni said this was because we were going to have such fun at home and she just couldn't wait a minute longer. Bless her, she thinks I am such a treasure.
On the way home Nanni produced a little plastic container which I recognised immediately as the one which holds my snacks. I gave her my biggest, most beaming grin so that she would know how pleased I was with her.
OK, so I imagine it was Mummy's idea because I'm not sure Nanni would have thought about it herself but I always think it doesn't hurt to give Older People a bit of encouragement.
When we arrived at my house I was glad to see that Nanni managed to open the front door OK. Last time she had a Bit of Trouble and had to call on the next door neighbour for help. Some people would have found this a bit embarrassing,
but Nanni says that as you grow older you don't embarrass so easily. Hopefully by the time I am older, say fourteen months or so, I will stop being embarrassed. As I am not quite sure what embarrassment is, it will probably be hard to tell the difference.
We played with all my toys, Nanni was particularly proficient at building with the mega blocks but I didn't want her to get too cocky so I demolished them pretty quick. She just laughed. Nanni laughs quite
a lot, I've found. It's one of the things I like best about her. She says laugh and the world laughs with you. That seems a bit of an over-statement to me, but there you are. That's Nannis for you. If you have one of our own, you probably know just what I
One thing's for sure - we did have such fun.
Nanni was right about that.
