Jaqui's Daily Blog

Monday 23rd July

It's amazing just what you learn when grand-daughters come to stay.  For example, did you know that all this week on Nickelodeon TV it is Square Bob Sponge Pants Week?

Actually Nanni it is Spongebob Squarepants! Do you get it wrong on purpose Nanni because ever since I have come to stay I have always watched it so you should get it right by now (Eleanor speaking by the way in case you hadn't worked that out).

Another funny thing that happened today was that after I had told Nanni about an episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures being filmed on Worthing pier Nanni was very keen to try to re-enact it. This was until we broke the news to her that in that episode one of the young girls fell off the pier to her death...(Later we realised that it was actually Brighton pier and not Worthing so Nanni felt a bit better about that.)

Hello Katie here! Something that I have learnt today is that UPS is not necessarily the most reliable of delivery companies and I think Grandad will back me up here. He has been waiting in since 9am this morning for his Olympic tickets after not very helpfully being told that they would arrive sometime between 9am and 7pm... This means he has missed out on a great day out :( And the tickets still haven't arrived...

Also I really need to wear more suncream... After getting burnt last year you would have thought that I would have learned my lesson. But no, once again I have subjected my shoulders and chest to the harsh rays of the sun.

As I said, so much we have learnt today. Can't wait for tomorrow!

Mmm, was it because there were '24 men kicking a ball' that it didn't end entirely satisfactorily???

Jaqui I think your grandchildren are very lucky. You have spurred me on to write a letter to Amelia who like Hazel is away from home for the first time. 💕
