Jaqui's Daily Blog

Tuesday 24th July

Isn't it strange how much pleasure we gain from childish pursuits, however old we are?  I'm thinking of paddling in the sea, building sandcastles, eating hot doughnuts - all of which we've done today. But over to Eleanor first for her view of the world today....

Well, today as is tradition we have gone for a Littlehampton day at the beach. In the car Nanni mentioned her latest idea for the beach. Air conditioned bubbles! She said that they could be used on the hottest of days to keep you cool and they would be better than the tents lots of people put up on the beach. This is because the bubbles would be transparent so you would be able to see out of them. Neither Katie nor I thought that was a very good idea because it is nice to breathe in the sea air.

Talking about tradition today we all had hot donuts. We only ever get them when we go to Littlehampton. Sadly they were a little hot and overcooked but I still thought they tasted divine!

Katie is getting all glammed up for our visit to Shafiques, our favourite Indian restaurant, so she's passing on the opportunity to add to today's blog.  More from her tomorrow.

Finally, we do know that because of our advanced years we should really be playing games like Monopoly or Scrabble.  However, in line with our pursuit of all things child-like, this morning we enjoyed an excellent game of "My Dog Has Fleas."  On the box it describes this as "the flea popping game you'll be itching to play."  If you ever find it (ours came from a charity shop and cost a pound) we recommend you snap it up and so satisfy your inner child!
