Tuesday 28th August

Team Baldwin arrived today!  Team Baldwin (aka Jack and Hazel) arrive every year about this time.  Every year, their mother (the Youngest of the Darling Daughters), comes too.  This is because she cannot bear to think she might be missing out on something.  It's a classic case of like mother, like daughter.

I, too, can't bear the thought that something exciting / interesting / untoward might happen without me being part of the experience.  Especially when Team Baldwin are around.  Though it has to be said that this afternoon I would willingly have foregone the experience of Hazel and the First Aid Centre.  I will ask the heroine of this story to explain...

Well.... I was going up to the car to get my scooter because we always scoot along the prom prom prom when we come up. I have to add that I wasn't wearing shoes, as I couldn't be bothered.  You have to get up, bend down and put them on, it's just too hard! On the way back from the car, I tripped because my scooter hit the back of my leg, and I scraped my toe SOOOO hard that the skin ripped off and I was left with a blood gushing foot. Jack laughed at first, saw the blood and said I'll go get mum! He walked back at snail's pace, then got there and said I've got two things to say: 1- Hazel's foot's bleeding and 2- can you undo my scooter please? So Nanna came to help, and we went to the first aid centre!

When we got there, the Foreshores Inspector said he would have to amputate my toe! I was worriieeeeddddddd - until I realised he was joking so I had a plaster put on it and then I felt all grown up writing details down in a big book woop woop xxx

I feel really tough now with my big bold plaster on my foot!

Over to Jack, who may, in his own defence, want to correct a few minor points in the story...

First of all, I didn't laugh at Hazel when she hurt her foot and I only walked because I've got sore legs at the moment!!! ( I feel old!!!)

Probably my favourite part of the day had to be when Nan, my Mum and Hazel went off to the sea and left me to "guard" our possessions...(notice how I emphasised the word "guard!" RESPONSIBILITY!!!) I decided that, because I was SOOOO totally bored, I would send messages to myself through Mum's phone telling me all the things I wanted to hear. I won't go through everything I sent to myself, but let's just say, my happiness was short lived! (I didn't get to do anything I suggested!!!) I had a very crazy day!!!

Crazy is the word.  Can't wait for tomorrow to find out what will happen next!

These chairs are wonderful if, as you say, a smidgen, a humungous smidgen, expensive! Both my stepmother and mother-in-law had one.
